Parole

Parole

Standing in this field I let the wild wind billow me;
If only I could fly away I would streak the sky—
A cloud that moves so fast it's gone without a face.

I couldn't stop myself from feeling free;
The prisons, bar to bar, showed me that lie—
And in this open world "inside" gives no one grace.

Now all the voices have sung cacophonies;
Every evil has been done, there's nothing left to try.
Time is done and gone and come to erase
This human garbage gone bad for far too long,
Not made to walk the straight path, just plain turned out wrong.
Pray God the buzzards' hunger leaves no trace
Of one last crime by one last perp out in this lonely place.
